ATA is completely free to students and families who are admitted. The after-school program, Summer Academy, tutoring, mentoring, and field trips are all free. Students also receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack during the Summer Academy. Every student receives a laptop, a Kindle, and school supplies in order to ensure their success at ATA, their current middle school, and beyond.
We are accepting applications from students currently in 5th grade. While we support students through college graduation, we only accept applications from 5th graders.
Yes, Alexander Twilight Academy is a program that takes place after school, on the weekends, and over the summer. Students stay in their current middle school and we provide academic support and enrichment in addition to their normal schooling.
Students will be expected to work harder than ever before if they join Alexander Twilight Academy. Each year of middle school, students will attend a six-week Summer Academy and ATA's after-school program twice a week during the school year. They will also participate in field trips and complete ATA homework in addition to what is assigned at their current middle school. This is all to prepare students to manage the workload and type of work they will be receiving at the nation’s top high schools. When they are in high school and college, students will continue to receive support from ATA in pursuit of their goals. Families are expected to make sure their children are on time for ATA programming and have completed all of their work, as well as being responsive and supportive equal partners in supporting their child on this journey. In return, we promise to provide world-class educational opportunities, extensive support, new experiences, and assistance applying to and thriving at top high schools and colleges.
ATA's Summer Leadership Academy takes place at a local private high school in Boston. We provide free transportation from Boston and Chelsea to ATA each summer of middle school through the summer before 9th grade. Our after-school programming takes place virtually, so students can spend more time learning with their ATA teachers and classmates rather than commuting across the city. When it is safe to do so, we will have all Saturday field trips in-person. Transportation will also be provided for field trips.
